So, I recently got a kids
dvd for Johnny and now I'm wondering if it was a good thing or not. I noticed that he seemed interested in the Wiggles when they're on
tv and we were at the store the other day and their "Dance Party"
dvd was only five bucks. So I thought I'd be a nice mom and get it for him. Well, turns out he absolutely loves it, not only does he love it, but it is now the only thing he will watch. We have all of our kids movies down low in a basket so he can pick shows for himself and he's begun dumping it out and digging through the
dvd's until he finds the Wiggles and then brings it to me and begs and won't stop saying "
Pease,
pease" until I put it in. That would not be so horrible if it weren't 4-6 times a day everyday. The upside of this is that the show keeps him happily entertained for approximately 35 min at a time and I can clean the kitchen and get some things done. The bad thing....I can't watch any shows without him turning off the
tv and asking for his show, I have really stupid songs stuck in my head twenty four seven, and because of a section where they do magic tricks, Johnny thinks I can magically make anything he wants appear by clapping my hands; when I can't he cries and says "magic tricks mommy". So, I guess I have to go with the pros on this one though, I can actually get some things done, he's
exercising while watching
tv, he's learned several new words from the show, and it wears him out for his naps. I will just constantly be singing "
di dicky do
dum di dum do" in my head.....don't ask.....
This is what it looks like....Mom's BEWARE!!!

HAHA! This is such a funny situation that hasn't happened to me yet. But, my little sister did buy Lincoln a Wiggles DVD for Christmas. I just haven't looked at it yet. Thanks for the warning!
So, this is why you were asking about the Wiggles the other day! :)
I just opened the DVD my sister gave us, today. It's called You Make Me Feel Like Dancing. I made Lincoln watch it from the playpen while I showered. I only caught a few glimpses, but most of the songs seemed to be those that I remember from being little. I do still have the theme song in my head though.
Lincoln liked it a lot, and since I can't hear it over the shower, we'll probably be using it again. I never even heard a peep out of him the whole time, until the end, when he was laughing just the way he would if he were being teased by Tyler! Maybe I'll have the check it out more closely myself.
