Being Creative...sort of...

Like I said in my last post, I've been wanting to do some decorating and crafty things, not like me....well I went to this craft store the other day and they have a ton of cute things. Also, one of my friends made this really cute Easter craft, so I kinda combined the two ideas and made my own Easter craft. I almost bought wood at the actual craft store, which I'm glad I didn't, I found out you can get enough for about 5 projects at Home Depot for $2 and they cut the wood for you for free!!! All you have to do is sand it yourself, which didn't take long. So....here's what I've come up with, it's probably pretty lame, but it's creative for me, and for not having any girls here to help me, I need to cut one more piece of wood to completely finish it.....

We don't have a normal entertainment center, so I'm just stacking them on the tv for now. Davie's going to help me finish a shelf for the wall when the weather gets a little better, so maybe I'll put them up there later. Here are a couple of craft things I saw at the store that I want to attempt to make......if anyone is in a crafty mood call me and we can figure them out together, I tried to get Davie to work on these with me last night but he got bored pretty quick.....
I got these shadow box shelves that I thought these eggs would look way cute on.....

Wishing For Spring...

So, as you can tell by my new background and header, I am dying for spring to come. It came for a few days last week and then tricked me and went away. I'm ready to be able to take Johnny outside everyday and to be closer to having this baby. Only 10 more weeks! (If he's on time)

Anyways, I've been in a crafty mood lately and saw some really cute Easter and spring crafts at this store in Logan, but I think I could make them way cheaper than buying them. So, if anyone's in the mood to do some crafts let me know, it'd be fun to hang out and wish for spring!

Also, we're getting closer to having this baby and still don't have a name for him.....We think it's between Tyson and Ammon now, with the middle name Joel either way. Thanks for all the votes on our poll. If you've got an opinion between the two names leave a comment on this post for us. We love hearing the suggestions and what people think. Let us know.

New clothes...

I know I post a ton, but I just have to write when Johnny does something cute, plus it keeps a record for myself. It's starting to be more and more like spring and we realized Johnny didn't have any spring clothes, and lots of his fall clothes were too small. I took him shopping with me this past week to get some new stuff and let him pick some things himself. The only clothes he was interested in were what he called "Daddy clothes", and it's easy to tell why, the shirts Johnny picked look just like shirts Davie would where or like what he has. Here are a couple pictures of him in his favorite "Daddy" outfit.

He's making a funny face because he just blew his nose and he was saying "Ew".
He kept telling me that his shirt was "cool".

Banana Bread

So, most people know that I'm not great with cooking and used to never do it. Since Johnny was born though I have been trying to be better and have actually had some fun with it. We decided it'd be fun to make something as a family every Sunday, since we had so much fun making cookies with Johnny last week. Today we made homemade banana bread. I was really nervous that it wouldn't turn out, I've never ever baked bread before. Johnny helped with the stirring and snuck and ate a bunch of the mashed bananas, it was so cute. I'm really excited because it actually worked! I didn't burn any of it, and it rose fine, and it actually tasted pretty good. We did a healthier recipe and there are a couple things we're going to alter next time just to give it a little extra taste, but Johnny loved it, he keeps begging for more, so that's a good sign since he's been a bit of a picky eater lately. Anyways, these pics are for my Mom since I know she'll want proof that I made bread and it worked.....

Playtime...

Johnny's become a lot more independant lately, and loves to play little make-believe games by himself at home. Our third bedroom is mostly a toy room right now until we have the baby, so Johnny plays in there a lot while I get ready in the mornings. I heard a lot of noise in there the other day and found him climbing in the baby carseat, he said he was a little baby in the car. Then he dumped out one of the toy bins and started playing like he was in a tent or something. It was so cute!

Later that night he started messing with Davie's ipod, he loves listening to music on it and carrying it around the house. I found this pic on our camera, so I assume Davie took it, but I love it!

Making Cookies!

Johnny loves when I'm cooking and I let him stir things, he also loves pretending to cook. On sunday I decided it'd be fun to make cookies with him. I'm wierd about my kid and sugar, so we made oatmeal raisin cookies and replced the sugar with honey, they actually tasted ok. He was so cute and got so into it! Here are a few pics we got.

Stirring the dough, he wouldn't look at us, he was concentrating so hard.

Trying to stir with the raisins and oatmeal in it.

When we were putting the cookies on the tray, he would grab huge handfuls and try to throw them on!

Eating the finished product! He shoved the whole thing in his mouth, he loved it!

After we made the cookies we asked what Johnny wanted to do with them, it was so cute, he said he wanted to take them to his friends Dylan and "Pat". (For those who don't knwo, "Pat" is Davie's friend that Johnny is obsessed with, I think he thinks they are the same age.) We took the cookies over to them that night, Johnny thought it was so cool, he talked about it all evening!
