Just Keep Scrollin, Just Keep Scrollin....

All right, it's late and I'm getting weird! I have not forgotten about our blog, just been super busy with church, soccer, and Johnny starting preschool (will post about that a diff day). Tonight I played catch up though, and there are several new posts! So just keep scrolling down til you reach the one from July, I think, I know, pathetic!

It's Pumpkin Time!

We have this cute little fall book called "It's Pumpkin Time" that the kids like to read. We literally did everything in that book for family home evening tonight! Picked pumpkins, rode in wagons, went through a maze, got a big pumpkin for the big brother and a baby pumpkin for the little brother, and came home all bundled up in warm clothes to carve them and make yummy treats! (Minus the carving, we decided to hold off another week on that)It was so fun, because the boys kept saying that what we were doing was just like their book, and then asked to read it before bed!

We found a really awesome pumpkin patch nearby this evening. This place was HUGE! I have never seen a pumpkin patch this big! There were millions of pumpkins, it was hard to choose just a few.

They had these little wagons to carry the pumpkins in, and the boys loved riding in them as well.
They are super excited about these monster hats we found and insisted on wearing them!
Love his little grin!
Johnny loves to blow kisses right now.
Johnny picked the biggest pumpkin out of all of us. He did not want help lifting it, so cute!

I wanted to take more pictures, but my camera battery died, and it started pouring rain! This place had a little hay maze for the kids to go in, best part, it was free! The boys had so much fun chasing each other around in there and hiding from each other. I love fall evenings like this! I'm just dreading what comes after fall!

Soccer!

Johnny played soccer for the city this year, it was a very interesting and trying experience! He asked us if he could sign up for soccer so we let him, and then he complained about it a lot. We tried bribes, and just encouraging him to try, but neither worked. So, we gave up, we kept taking him and just didn't make a big deal about it.

This is from Johnny's first game, and this is how he spent his time at every game until the last!
And here, at his very last game......something clicked! He actually tried and did well, he scored 4 goals! I guess backing off was the key the whole time!
Love his little shin guards! They were so big on him!

He stopped playing when he noticed the camera was out and decided to make faces at me instead.
Final cheer with his team.
Overall it was a good experience! I think we learned a lot about Johnny's personality and his interests and how to help him be successful at things. We got some cute team pics, I need to scan them into the computer and then I will post them.
