Pics

I don't have pictures of our place yet, I'm hoping to get it decorated soon and cleaned up so I can post some, but here are a couple from Christmas and right before we moved. I only have two from Christmas because our battery died, but you can see a little bit.
Logan's first real snow day, we bundled Johnny up to go out and play.

Johnny had a big sore on his cheek for Christmas....

He couldn't decide what to play with.

Another Update.

So, I guess I should probably just tell everybody this, I've been waiting a while, but if I don't just say it Davie will probably tell you anyways. We are having another baby! And yes, I really have waited a long time to tell anyone.....we're 19 weeks today, and it's a...............BOY!!! Johnny's gonna have a buddy here in a few months. We had our big ultrasound today and everything looks good. We're way excited to expand our family again, although I'm a bit more nervous about having 2 than 1. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get anything done, but I'm sure it'll work out. My due date is June 4....so summer baby. We've been debating names, and haven't agreed on anything, so we're open to advice and I'll also post a survey with the names we've thought about, see what people think.

If anyone's upset about finding out this late I'm very sorry, we don't like to tell early on in case something goes wrong. Also, we just barely told our families over Christmas, so they haven't known very long either.

So, if you see me around, you now know that I am fatter for a reason, it's to the point where I can't really hide it anymore.....

Catching Up!

We've been so busy in the last month we haven't had any time to update our blog. I didn't mention this sooner because I wasn't sure if it'd go through or not, but Davie and I bought our first place last month. It's a 3 bedroom condo just a few blocks where we were living. We looked at some homes north of Logan but decided it was better for us to be living in town for the next few years while Davie's finishing up school. It's not anything big, but it's bigger than our apartments and a lot nicer. The sellers did a lot of work fixing it up and they put in a new kitchen, so it's a step up for us. We're so excited to be done renting and to have our own place. Johnny likes the new place, it's a much better layout for him and he can run around a bit more. We also have a small fenced in backyard, Johnny keeps asking to go play out there, but it's been so cold and snowy, he needs to wait a couple months. We're still getting things settled, we didn't have much time last month with Christmas, but it's getting there. When we're all done organizing I'll post pics.

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. We spent it at Davie's parents. We went down a couple days before and got to stay for about 5 days. All of Johnny's cousins were in town and he spent the whole time chasing them around and playing. When we came home he kept asking for "Miram", (cousin Miriam). On Christmas Eve we went to the Nutcracker, a tradition in Davie's family, it was lots of fun, it was fun seeing how excited the younger kids got about it. Johnny was excited about his presents Christmas morning, but then saw his cousins and aunts and uncles presents and wanted to play with those instead. Now that we're home he's been playing with his toys though and has been way excited about them. Davie was awesome and got me new kitchen stuff for Christmas this year. We now have real pots and pans! He also got me a spice rack and a new knife set that matches our new kitchen. Davie had to wait a couple days after Christmas to get his main gift, it had to be hidden at my parents so he wouldn't find it early, but I got him a painting he really wanted, "The Prayer at Valley Forge". It's the only picture hanging up at our house right now.....he couldn't wait to hang it. We had a lot of fun with our families this Christmas, and it was a nice break from moving.

Things are getting back to normal here, we've all been really sick this last week so we haven't got much done, but we're hoping to get better and to finish organizing our new place soon. As soon as we're done we'll post pictures.

"How I met my spouse"

1. Where did you meet? At Continental Apartments, we both lived there.

2. What was the first thought that went through your head when you met? "This guy's cute...and he's playing a song I like on the guitar."

3. Do you remember what he was wearing? A red and white button up shirt, jeans, and brown shoes.

4. Where was the first time you kissed this person? In his apartment.

5. Where did you go for your first date? Technically to the U2 concert in Salt Lake, but I "wasn't dating" at that time, so after that out to dinner and ice skating, but he doesn't consider that our first date.

6. How long did you know this person before you were a couple? 2-3 months.

7. How did he ask you out? He just asked me several times, but I was refusing to date anyone, even though I liked him, then after a couple months I told him I wanted to date him.

8. Has this person ever purposed to you? Yes, he took me on a picnic, it was still really cold that spring in Logan, so we ate in the car. Then we walked around Richmond park and swung on the swings, and while I was swinging he knelt down and proposed.

9. Do you and this person have kids together? 1 kid, Johnny, he's almost 14 months.

10. Have you ever broken the law with this person? Yeah, but dumb laws, like speeding, j-walking, stuff you don't really realize you're doing wrong.

11. When was the first time you realized you liked this person? The first time I met him, I thought he was really cute and sweet.

12. Do you get along with his family? I think so. He's got a big family and each one of them is so fun in their own way.

13. Do you trust this person? Yes, except when he gets that look and I know he's got some crazy idea he's coming up with. (J/K honey!)

14. Do you see him as your partner in the future? Forever and ever.

15. What is the best gift he gave you? There are so many I couldn't pick just one. Probably just all the little sacrifices he makes for his family, and to be a father.

16. What is one thing he does that gets on your nerves? Doesn't put things away, but that's just something small, it could be worse.

17. Where do you see each other 15 years from now? Hopefully having a decent-size family, in a house that's a good size for us, him working his dream job, and things going well.

18. What causes the most arguments? Stupid things, miscommunications, or conflicts about what we want to do with things.

19. How long have you been together? Just over 3 years.

20. Are you married? Yes, 2 1/2 years.

21. Who do you tag? Katie, Nikki, Rachel, Charity, and Jefrilyn.

Cute Pics...

I was bored the other day before our ward Christmas party, so I took some fun pictures of Johnny in his Christmas sweater. He didn't want to cooperate at first, but I started acting like the camera was attacking me and I got some really cute ones.

Our Weekend!

So, I was dumb and totally forgot to take any pictures over Thanksgiving and the weekend, I've really been slacking and am going to work harder. We went to my parents for Thanksgiving, Johnny got to hang out with Ben and Charity's kids that day, and spent the whole time trying to show them the dogs. That's pretty much all he did the whole time was chase Nana's dogs and boss them around. Davie had to work Friday, so I stayed at my moms with Johnny and got a lot of Christmas shopping done. On Saturday we went to Salt Lake to visit Davie's family, Johnny had lots of fun trying to say everyone's names, and running around with his aunts and uncles. On Sunday we went to temple square to see the lights, Johnny thought they were pretty cool, we had to head back early though since Davie had school and work the next morning. It was a fun little break and it was nice to spend some time with both of our families and for Johnny to get to see them and to know them a little better. We'll be better about pictures and take some soon, oh, and I chopped my hair off! I'll take a pic and post it when I can.

New Words

Johnny has a few new words and sayings he's picked up lately. He can say "Grandpa", "Icky" (aka Emily), and "Stephen". "Paul", "GG" (that's grandma Graves), "noodles", "broom", "mop", "zoo", "pumpkin", "kitty", "Jason" (a kid I babysit twice a week), and "Santa"! We've been trying to teach him all the names of our family members, but there are a lot so it will take a while. It's so cute to hear him saying things in his small little voice, it's especially cute when he knows what he's talking about.

Birthday at Nana's

On Sunday we went to visit my family so they could see Johnny for his birthday too. He spent most of the time there following "Nana" around and telling her dogs what to do. He loves telling them "don't" and to "sit". I think he thinks he's the boss of them. Before heading home Sunday we sang to Johnny and he opened presents.
He at least tried to blow out the candle this time, but not enough to get the job done.

He also did a little better unwrapping gifts, but he wanted to play with each thing instead of opening the next gift.

Emily gave him a really cute mop and broom set since he's always trying to use mine, it's so cute, he's been cleaning my kitchen nonstop since we got home.

Happy First Birthday!!!

Johnny turned one on Sunday, November 2. It's so crazy that a whole year has already gone by, it seems like just yesterday I was coming home from the hospital, or he was trying to roll over. Some of Johnny's big accomplishments this last year are and have been: rolling, crawling, sitting up, saying ma ma and da da, walking, talking, obeying his parents, learning to eat solid foods, helping clean the kitchen, and most recently bossing nana's dogs around. Here's a picture of him from each month up til now.
This was taken in the hospital a few hours after he was born.

A couple days after coming home.

12 Months, this morning with banana all over his face.... We're so happy that we have Johnny, our lives have been so much better since he was born, it's so fun being a mom and seeing your kid learn something new every day.

Happy Halloween!!!

Johnny didn't quite understand Halloween this year, but he looked so cute in his costume and he got to do a lot of fun stuff. The day before Halloween, Davie's work had an indoor Trick or Treating party for the kids. Johnny loves going to see his Daddy at work so he was way excited about that, and he liked looking at all the other kids costumes. He had a pumpkin trick or treat bucket, which he loves, he thinks it's a toy.
Johnny wouldn't sit still for any pictures, so they're a little blurry and he's walking away in this one. But you get the idea, he looked so cute in his costume.

On Halloween Davie got off work early and we went down to Salt Lake to spend time with his family and to have a birthday party for Johnny. Jefrilyn made us a really good dinner and planned a fun party for Johnny. We all went Trick or Treating together and then went back to her place to sing Happu Birthday and open presents. Johnny had no idea what to do with the candle, it was cute, so we blew it out for him. And when it was time for presents it took a while to convince him to tear the paper off. He really likes all his gifts though and liked it when everyone sang to him.

Lazy...

I have been really lazy about blogging lately, so I'll try to catch everything up in a couple posts. Things have been good, but very busy lately. We've been trying to find a house before the end of the year, and it's a lot harder than you would think, we've found a couple maybe's, but we'd either have to have a smaller kitchen than we'd like, or live 15 min outside of town in the boonies. We're going to pray about it and see what seems the best for us.

Like everyone one else in Logan we went to the Pumpkin Walk last week. Johnny thought it was really cool and wanted to touch all the pumkins. He really liked the Noah's Ark display, he loves animals right now.
With everything going on with the election lately I thought that these two displays were funny. Their heads are really made out of pumpkins, so they did a good job.

On another political note.....I usually try to stay out of it, but for those who haven't heard, the democratic party released an ad this morning bashing mormons, particularly missionaries. It shows to mormon missionaries going into someones home who happens to be a lesbian and tying her up and saying " we're from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and we're here to take your rights away". Please take this into consideration when voting today, even if the the person you're voting for didn't make this ad, remember, their party may have and they haven't said anything to distance themselves from it or to speak out against it.
